d. HVAC Energy conservation lab.

This picture shows our main research project in the laboratory : chiller’s energy saving and verification. We use instruments to measure chilled water flow rate , chilled water providing and returning temperature , etc. And then we establish chiller’s power consumption model and verify that chiller’s energy saving.

This picture shows the condensing water system outside the laboratory. We use many kinds of algorithm to find the optimal control parameters , such as Neural Networks (NN) or Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). Using these methods , we let HVAC on optimal operation so that it has the lowest power consumption.

N. Smart Sensors Lab.

The project was developed using HF's RFID to achieve data transmission and to use wireless power transmission to achieve the purpose of power supply to remove the use of the battery.

By integrating the EPCIS architecture, commodity-related production information integrated into an electronic resume, for manufacturers to query and use.

(3) Research achievements :

Some research achievements include : optimal design of flow paths of air-conditioners by flow modeling, technical guidelines for energy saving in lighting and air-conditioning, basic technical guidelines for dynamic building energy simulation, remote monitoring station for building energy consumption, building stairwell pressurization for smoke control, innovative airflow distribution for clean rooms, innovative natural convection coolers, high precision temperature control mini-environment, vacuum refrigeration, new type of variable volume air cooler, energy saving chiller sequencing computing scheme, etc.

Practice of working with tubing, oxyacetylene brazing equipment, air properties measurement, identifying refrigerants by T-P curve, vacuum pumping, charging and testing a system, wiring of basic electrical circuit and control circuit, practice of capillary refrigeration system, automatic expansion valve refrigeration system, expansion valve systems, multi-temperature refrigeration system, absorption refrigeration system, vortex refrigeration system, thermoelectric refrigeration system Vacuum pump, refrigerant charging machine, refrigerant recycle machine, low temperature storage cabinet, industrial refrigeration practice training unit, transportation refrigeration system, fundamental refrigeration cycle training unit, thermal-electric device, absorption cycle training unit. Experiments Facilities
Practice with compressor control, sequence control, temperature control, humidity control, flow control, outdoor air control, enthalpy control, pneumatic control, electrical control, and electronic control on HVAC systems.
